Finally a little green...

I woke up yesterday to find some nice men putting grass in our ugly dirt yard! A little greenery will go a loooong way on our rather bleak little street. Yay! I hope it actually turns green soon...
Oh, guess what Corey gets to do today? Skip work and play in a work-sponsored golf tournament where he's encouraged to drink all day and have fun. Not too shabby...

Hi Patty, I found your blog a few days ago while doing a google search for Misawa blogs. I lived there as a 25 yo newlywed from central coast CA (Watsonville) in 1977 and have enjoyed reading about your similar adventure. The place seems to have changed ALOT in the past 30 years but I have wonderful memories of Japan. Thanks for the updates! I look forward to hearing more! Terry

We just found out yesterday we are getting stationed at Misawa in August or September. We don't know the exact date yet, but I'm not in any hurry as we will be there for 3 years =) He is a dentist so maybe he can take those wisdom teeth out for you! Ouch!
So are there any other homes in the area or did all of the cute ones like yours fill up already. I don't want to live on base......ewwwwwwwww lol

Hi Terry- thanks for reading, that's so cool! I bet it has changed a lot since you were here. I love Misawa so far, it's great!

Peter and Stephanie- Yay for getting stationed at Misawa! A dentist, you say? Score! Tell him to go gentle on me and my poor teeth... :). I share your living-on-base sentiments, so hopefully there will be plenty of off-base options for you when you get here. Our little neighborhood is full right now, but they seem to pop up new houses like crazy, and I'm guessing you'll be able to find something great. Enjoy your last few months stateside!
